It is still a very light tasting jelly.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2896693730195830296.post-37989887703126571242010-05-01T12:19:07.926-04:002010-05-01T12:19:07.926-04:00Ciao Callie-

I just finished making mine and by doubling up on the flowers, I got a really nice violet purple close to that of the flowers themselves. This is perfect timing for Mother's Day (and a bit later, Victoria Day). Here's to Queen Victoria for putting flowers in our food!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2896693730195830296.post-85196102203764346972010-04-30T10:53:32.906-04:002010-04-30T10:53:32.906-04:00I picked voilets and made the infusion yesterday. ...I picked voilets and made the infusion yesterday. I noticed many of them today and was slightly annoyed. . . until I saw this. I knew violets were edible but never considered jelly. What an excellent use for weeds!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2896693730195830296.post-46224643759736044572010-04-28T15:27:47.127-04:002010-04-28T15:27:47.127-04:00I love violets too and this recipe is just so terr...I love violets too and this recipe is just so terrific. My violets are just blooming now (I'm a little north of Toronto) so I used a different recipe (I don't blog but post on Flickr - Tomato,Apple & Rosemary Jam). Definitely going to make the violet jelly tho - scones sound like a perfect match.Mary Annnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2896693730195830296.post-40344034036390972562010-04-24T18:58:30.209-04:002010-04-24T18:58:30.209-04:00I got so excited about this recipe that I went out...I got so excited about this recipe that I went out and picked violets and made some. Set was great, colour was sensational - only problem was the infusion has almost no scent or taste. So I threw in some lavender, which has mase it violet-coloured, lavender-flavoured jelly.Sarah|BHoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15370343094204999154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2896693730195830296.post-67273224127919975542010-04-24T11:25:33.560-04:002010-04-24T11:25:33.560-04:00Set is good!
